Desperado

Arrow Dynamics built the first roller coaster that was over 200 feet tall.  The term "hyper-coaster" was created to refer to rides that were taller than the 200-foot mark or had a greater than 200-foot drop.  Arrow built five hyper-coasters: Magnum XL-200 (1989) at Cedar Point in Ohio, Steel Phantom (1991-2000) at Kennywood in Pennsylvania, Desperado (1994) shown here, Pepsi Max Big One (1994) at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the United Kingdom (pictures coming soon), and X2 (2002), formerly X, at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California.  Of these rides, only Steel Phantom had loops, but the inversions were removed when the ride was converted to Phantom's Revenge.
