The cars are mounted below the track, and hinges allow them to move slightly from side to side. Hydraulic dampers, the silver shock absorbers mounted in an inverted "V" between the seats, limit the amount of swaying, but the ability to allow slight sideways motion yields a smoother ride for the passengers. The lack of shoulder harness eliminates any chance of head-banging, so a ride on Steel Lasso is a very enjoyable experience.
