Chance Rides traces its roots back to 1961 when Richard H. (Harold) Chance incorporated Chance Manufacturing. The company acquired the Allan Herschell Company in 1970. For many decades, they built thrill rides, family rides, gentle rides, carousels, and Ferris Wheels. Richard G. (Dick) Chance took over the company in 1985 and reorganized it as Chance Industries.
