Ragin' Cajun

Roller coasters have a wonderful safety record, and nearly every fatality has occurred due to rider misconduct, not due to a failure of the coaster's engineering or construction.  This particular roller coaster caused a fatality the day after it opened at its original location in Illinois, but I can't blame the ride for the death.  A car, which was full of riders, struck and killed a Six Flags Great America ride mechanic while he was working next to the coaster's track.  After the accident, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited the park for failure to provide proper machine guarding.
