On this ride, there are usually nine wood boards placed on top of each other in order to form the running rails.  In 2012, nearly a third of the track's length was covered with Rocky Mountain Construction Topper Track.  This steel replaced the top two layers of wood.  It not only provides a smoother ride, it also reduces the large amount of work required to maintain wood coaster track.
