Silverwood announces addition of largest, most expensive attraction ever
January 23, 2008 (Athol, ID) Silverwood Theme Park has announced the addition of a new steel roller coaster
that will become the park's largest, tallest, and costliest single attraction ever.
The coaster, recently purchased from Six Flags Great America, is known as a Giant Inverted Boomerang and
made by the Dutch company Vekoma. The Park is aiming to have the coaster ready for operation in July of 2008.
Specifics:
- The new ride will be 191 Feet tall, almost twice the height of the park's next highest coaster.
- To begin, riders will be hoisted up a 90 degree vertical incline before being dropped 177 feet.
- Riders will reach speeds of over 65 miles per hour and feel the pull of 4.5 positive G forces.
- The coaster will take riders through a Cobra Roll and Loop - both at over a hundred feet in the air.
- Upon reaching the ride's second vertical tower, riders will again be hoisted up a 90 degree incline before being dropped backwards through the track.
- The pieces of the coaster will fill over 50 truckloads as it's shipped to Silverwood over the coming months.
- The ride will last about 1 minute and 30 seconds, and carry 32 guests per trip.
