SeaWorld was founded in 1964. SeaWorld San Diego,
the first park in the SeaWorld family, sits along the shore of Mission Bay in
San Diego.
Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc. (HBJ), owned SeaWorld from 1976 to 1989.
Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. purchased SeaWorld in
1989. The parks are currently owned and operated by Busch Entertainment Corporation, one of the Anheuser-Busch Companies.
The park is home to hundreds of animals including seven Orcas performing at
Shamu Stadium.
