Project 365
Joel promises to take at least one picture every day for an entire year.

"An expert or master of any craft is measured by that person practicing their craft for 10,000 hours." - Daniel Levitin

"To be a good photographer, you must take at least 10,000 bad pictures." - Joel A. Rogers

I am a pilot.  I am not a photographer.  I never set out to make a website.  But back in 1999, I started posting some vacation shots on my new personal web page.  As time went by, the site became more and more about roller coasters and less and less about me.  When I look back at those first photographs, I am embarrassed by their quality.  And while I think I have improved somewhat in my picture taking, I would like to keep improving.

In October, I pledged to take and publish at least one picture every day for the next year.  This video represents the first seven months of my Project 365.  You will see a lot of my experimentation with new lenses, selective focus, High Dynamic Range, post-processing techniques, new cameras and cell phone cameras.  I am happy with the results of some of the experiments, while others are less than ideal.

In 2011, I think that CoasterGallery.com will benefit from some of these new things as well as my changed photography skills.
