Bizarro

In my opinion, Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard are geniuses.  Just check out this mechanism!  It uses a variety of pneumatic pistons and mechanical linkages to raise and lower the station floor that surrounds the train when it is in the station.  In order for it to operate, the train has to stop within less than one half of an inch from the normal parking position.

I took this picture from a service area located below the loading/unloading platform.  In this picture, the floor is lowered and a little of the purple and yellow train is visible between the movable floor and the fixed purple walkway on the upper right corner.
