Vortex

I have always wondered why these suspended coasters have over-the-shoulder "horse collar" restraints.  The coasters don't go upside-down, and none of the suspended coasters has any steep drops.  Because the cars are free-swinging, the riders don't even experience any lateral g-forces.  I would think that it would be perfectly safe to have just lapbars for restraints.  Is it possible that these types of cars don't have physical space to house lapbars?
