Roller Coaster

Roller Coaster opened in 1953.  It was the first major roller coaster to use steel rails.  Many people believe that the Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland was the first large coaster with steel track when it opened in 1959, but they are mistaken.  While it was the first to use tubular steel rails, other coasters, like this Japanese ride, previously used steel track.  Roller Coaster's rails are flat and almost look like railroad tracks.
