Flight of the Hippogriff

The fake rocks and portion of the Hogwarts Castle in the background are a little of the building housing the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey dark ride.  KUKA robocoaster arms are mounted on motorized vehicles and pass through a variety of scenes housed in this building.  A blend of technologies creates scenes of a Quidditch Match, the Whomping Willow, and massive Dementors.  Nearly identical rides are also at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan.  These rides are among the most expensive rides ever built, but I think they were well worth the investment.  The rides are incredibly impressive and very popular with guests.  Even the waiting queue is elaborate and filled with special effects and actors from the Harry Potter Films.  The waiting areas are so popular that there is a special line just for people who want to walk through the castle to experience the Potter theme without riding the ride.
