Slinky Dog Dash

This train is starting the first of two launches on this roller coaster.  They are hard to see in this picture, but a series of white fins mounted in the middle of the track contain a Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) which gently accelerates the train from a slow speed to about 40 miles per hour in around 5 seconds.  The LSM uses electro-magnetic propulsion to smoothly push the trains up this gentle slope.
