Slinky Dog Dash

Amusement parks have been struggling with how to deal with lines and wait times for many years, and the many Disney parks are no exception.  Since 1999, most of Disney's major rides had lines divided into "FastPass" and "Stand-by" entrances.  FastPass was a virtual queue system that allowed guests to reserve a place in a virtual line for one ride while being free to do other activities in the park.  The manner of getting a place in the virtual queue varied.  There were paper tickets at some parks, digital FastPasses on phone apps in other parks, and Disney Magic Bands in some locations.  On rides with FastPass access, those with a reservation would be allowed in the shorter "FastPass" lane at their allotted time while those without reservations would be relegated to the "Stand-by" entrance, which often had a much longer wait.  Over the years, Disney modified the program with some parks having FastPass+ that allowed reservations to be made months in advance, while other parks charged money for the Disney Premier Access pass.  Disney paused its virtual queue systems during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Surprisingly, this dramatically shortened the wait times for the "Stand-by" lines which made many guests happy.  Unfortunately for me, the wait time displayed for Slinky Dog Dash was 80 minutes when I took this picture!
