Time Warp

This coaster was called Tomb Raider: The Ride from 2004 to 2007.  It opened just after the 2003 movie "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life" hit the theaters.  This movie was the second installment in the Tomb Raider franchise.  Since it was critically panned and was a flop at the box office, it was the last Lara Croft movie until a new one debuted in 2018.

Paramount Pictures was the distributer of the Lara Croft movies.  Since Paramount also owned this park at the time, it made sense to have this coaster named after the movie.  When the ride opened, there were a couple motorcycles, some torches, a variety of stone statues, sound effects, and dramatic lighting in the waiting queue and loading platform.  After Paramount sold the park to Cedar Fair, the coaster's name was changed and nearly all of the themed items around it were removed.
