Steel Pier
Atlantic City, New Jersey

Steel Pier is a 1,000 foot long pier located across the Atlantic City Boardwalk from the Trump Taj Mahal.  During its heyday, the Pier was famous for its Diving Horse. When the wooden pier opened in 1898, it was much longer, but a fire in 1969 shortened it.  The pier was destroyed by another major fire in 1982, and the park reopened when the current concrete pier was built in 1993.  The Pier is currently owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts.  It was announced in 2006 that the pier would close and be redeveloped into retail attractions, but since these plans have been delayed, the amusement rides should remain open for the 2008 season.

One coaster has left the park:  Wildcat ran here from 1994 to 1998.  This Schwarzkopf ride started as Die Wildkatze at Busch Gardens Williamsburg from 1976 to 1983, operated from 1984 to 1991 as Wildcat at Playland Park in Rye, New York, then ran at Atlantic City.  It was then Wildcat at Williams Grove in Pennsylvania from 2001 until the park closed in 2005.  Since 2007, the ride has been Wildcat at Adventure Park USA in New Market, Maryland.
