In 1893, Daniel B. Trimper and his wife, Margret, purchased boardwalk property in Ocean City.  A Herschell-Spillman Company carousel was purchased in 1902, and still runs there today.  Other rides were added, and outdoor rides arrived in the 1950s.  The Trimpers' ten children and their descendants have been active at the park and in Ocean City.  Daniel's son and grandson have both served as Mayor of Ocean City.  His grandson, Granville Daniel Trimper, managed the park from 1980 until his death in 2008.
