Maverick

Maverick's trains hug the terrain during a lot of their travels, yet there are eight "airtime-filled hills" during each journey around the course.

The southeast end of the Marblehead Peninsula and Johnson's Island are visible on the right in this picture, but I am sure the coaster riders are a little too preoccupied to enjoy the view!  Between 1862 and 1865, over 10,000 Confederate soldiers were held prisoner on Johnson's Island during the Civil War.  Today, the area is best known for the Marblehead Lighthouse, the Lakeside private community run by the Methodist Church, and many places for tourists and boaters to visit.
