Millennium Force

The ride has 6,595 feet of steel track.  Three different track shapes are used on the coaster, and this picture shows a transition between two track types.  The train is passing over triangular track pieces consisting of two running rails connected to a single hollow tubular piece at the bottom of the track.  The three tubular steel pipes are connected by square cross-members.  In a few feet, the train will pass over the transition between triangular track and square track.  That configuration has two running rails, two backbone tubes, and slightly larger square cross-members.  In a few slow-speed sections of the coaster, the track is flat with just two running rails connected by cross-member supports.
