Nokkakiven Puisto, or Nokkakivi Park in English, was founded by Lauri Vartiainen and Markku Hakola. The park got
its start when they acquired a used Round-Up ride from the nearby Finnish Tykkimäki Park in 2002. They spent the next few years purchasing land and rides, and
the park opened in 2007. The adorable park now has almost two dozen rides and has many rides and experiences designed for children. It also has the
Ketkula Fun House and the Kummitusjuna (Ghost Train) dark ride that are incredibly unique experiences. The park also has an arcade, a candy
store, a restaurant, and a shopping center.
The park is named after a large rock located next to one of the rides. A face was painted on the rock 40 or 50 years before the park existed, and it remains there today.
"Nokkakivi" in Finnish translates to "Pebble Stone" or "Nose Stone" in English. It is common in parts of Scandinavia to name rocks
and geological features based on their appearance.
