Do-Dodonpa

When I first saw pneumatic aircraft tires on a roller coaster in 2001, I thought it was a technological move forward.  I got to ride Hypersonic XLC on its opening weekend in March 2001, and I was impressed by the extremely smooth ride provided by its air-filled tires.  I thought it was a nice system and I figured we would be seeing many more coasters with tires like those found on Hypersonic XLC and Do-Dodonpa.  I was very wrong!  These two rides were the only coasters that ever used re-purposed aircraft pneumatic tires.
