Sky Rocket

Before dropping straight down Sky Rocket's tallest hill, trains are brought nearly to a standstill by the steel fins mounted to the track.  The metal plates interact with permanent magnets mounted under the cars to significantly slow the train.  (These magnets are also used by the Linear Synchronous Motors during the train's launch.)
