Storm Chaser

Like many other wooden coasters built in the 1990s, Twisted Twins had a steel structure and wooden track.  This configuration is often called a 'hybrid coaster'.

This ride, which was considered a wood coaster because of its track, was Standing But Not Operating from 2008 until 2015.  Part of the time it was SBNO was due to the the park being closed for four summers.  The ride was converted into a steel coaster by Rocky Mountain Construction.  The new ride opened as Storm Chaser in April 2016, two years after the park reopened.  The new version kept much of the original ride's steel support structure, but eliminated the dueling aspect of the wood coaster.  The new version has an impressive three inversions, while the original had none.
