Regina

This train, which is just about ready to enter the station, is passing by the storage area for the other train.  You can get just a glimpse of a tiny portion of the purple train sitting in the storage area.

In addition to the seven traditional wood coasters built by Intamin, the company also built four coasters with prefabricated wooden track.  The traditional coasters like Regina use layers of wood that were pieced together on top of the ride.  But the prefabricated track, often referred to as "plug and play track," is made off-site by using a laser to cut long segments of track out of solid pieces of wood.  To date, four of these pre-fab coasters have been built.  I have personally ridden three of the four, and I loved them all!  They are all near the top of my list of favorite coasters!  The four rides, all of which are still operating, are:

  1. 2001 - Colossos at Heide Park Resort ain Germany
  2. 2003 - Balder at Liesberg in Sweden
  3. 2006 - El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey
  4. 2008 - T Express at Everland in South Korea
