Great American Scream Machine

Look at how many layers of wood are used to make the track!  And on this section of the coaster, the newest two layers on top have not been painted.  On the left side of the picture, some of the steel plates that are attached to the wood are visible in the track.  These steel strips are on the top, the inside, and the underside of the track.  The strips ensure that the multiple steel wheels on the trains don't directly rub against the wood planks.
