For its first 25 years, Space Mountain's dome was painted white. In 1997, it was painted green, gold, copper, and bronze in order to blend in with a recent "retro-futurist" refurbishment of Tomorrowland. When Tomorrowland was again overhauled in 2005 for the "Happiest Homecoming on Earth" celebration of the park's 50th anniversary, much of the area was returned to its white, blue, and silver paint scheme. The dome was painted white again that year, and you can even see the 50th anniversary logo in this picture taken in 2005.
