Nearly every Six Flags park added VR headsets to a roller coaster in 2016, but the system on Galactica differs from the ones on the Six Flags rides. The Six Flags system places a phone in an Oculus headset that is strapped onto riders' heads. On this ride, the phone-holding headset also includes earphones, but that whole VR system is directly tethered to the shoulder harnesses. The views displayed by the two systems aren't the same either. The Six Flags rides have scenes that roughly correspond to the maneuvers of the roller coaster, but the Galactica VR system mostly shows generic space scenes that don't reflect the turns and rolls that the trains pass through.
