Do-Dodonpa

As of 2022, Do-Dodonpa is tied for the fourth fastest roller coaster in the world.  Both Do-Dodonpa and Red Force at Ferrari Land in Spain launch coasters up to 180 kilometers per hour (112 miles per hour).  This coaster was built by S&S and uses air to launch trains, but Red Force was built by Intamin and uses Linear Synchronous Motors.  Here are fastest three coasters, all of which were built by Intamin and use hydraulic power to propel trains:

  1. 240 km/h (149 mph) - Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Opened in 2010.
  2. 206 km/h (128 mph) - Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure. Opened in 2005. Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom free-fall ride was added to the tower in 2014.
  3. 193 km/h (120 mph) - Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point. Opened in 2003. Has been Standing But Not Operating since August 2021 when a metal piece fell off a train an injured a guest.
