Warner Bros. Movie World

Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

400 acres of swampland next to the existing Warner Roadshow Studio complex was converted into a movie-based theme park which opened in 1991. The park used to be owned by Time Warner, but now it is owned and operated by the Village Roadshow Theme Parks and Sydney Attractions Group. Other Village Roadshow parks on the Gold Coast include Sea World, Wet'n'Wild Water World, Paradise Country and the Australian Outback Spectacular. The Sydney Group also owns the Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife World, Oceanworld Manly, Sydney Tower and Skywalk, Wet'n'Wild Hawaii and Wet'n'Wild Phoenix. The park has many movie-based rides and shows. It also has a new 4,000 square meter (43,000 square foot) roof over Main Street which shelters a large section of the park from inclement weather.
