Germany's Anton Schwarzkopf is a pioneer in steel looping coasters. The Schwarzkopf company is one of the most prolific roller coaster designers and manufacturers and Anton's coasters are located at many amusement parks throughout the world.
Schwarzkopf Industries built many permanent and portable coasters in the 1970s and and early 1980s until going bankrupt and ceasing operation in the mid-1980s. Anton passed away in 2001 and his company has gone out of business. However, a few
remnants of Schwarzkopf's history remain. His son Wieland continues to operate out of Ziemetshausen, Germany and makes parts for old Schwarzkopf rides. Hubert Gerstlauer used to work for the
Schwarzkopf company, but ended up founding Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, a company that now makes coasters and rides in the former Schwarzkopf factory in Bavaria.
