Linnanmäki

Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland

Situated on a hill overlooking Helsinki, Linnanmäki can be translated as "Castle Hill" in English. The park opened in 1950, but the Karuselli carousel was built in 1896. Linnanmäki is maintained by Lasten Päivän Säätiö, the Children's Day Foundation.  Over the last 60 years, the Foundation has donated over 73 million Euros to support child welfare in Finland.

Three coasters have left Linnanmäki:

  • Katapult, or Katapultti, was a Schwarzkopf Katapult loop that was there in 1992 and 1993. Previously, it operated as Katapult at Morey's Piers from 1985 to 1988.
  • Kiddie Roller Coaster was a small children's coaster that operated from 1971 to 1989.
  • Vonkaputous was a Premier Rides Water Coaster that was here from 2001 to 2017. See pictures below for more information.
