Busch Gardens Africa
Tampa Bay, Florida

Busch Gardens Africa started in 1959 as a beer brewery with a small theme park next to it, but the park has taken over.  In fact, the brewery is long gone and references to beer in the park are few and far between.  In addition to some very nice and unique rides, the park is home to over 2,800 animals.  Guests get to experience animals in many ways ranging from feeding little birds in the aviary to racing through the safari on Rhino Rally.   The park, which changed its name from busch Gardens Tampa Bay to Busch Gardens Africa in 2006,  presently covers 335 acres.

Python was removed from the park in 2006.  And for 2007, SheiKra is getting floorless trains.

Two coasters have opened here since my last visit:  (Details at the bottom of this page.)
