Vekoma Rides Manufacturing B.V.

This company from Vlodrop, The Netherlands was founded in 1926 by Hendrick op het Veld under the name "Veld Koning Machinefabreik." Since the 1970s it has made many coasters and production model "clones". In August 2001, they filed for bankruptcy protection due to overspending in research and development as well as difficulties opening three new Giant Boomerang prototypes. The Dutch company, which was purchased in September 2001 by Huisman-Itrec, is one of the largest manufacturers of amusement park rides. The company made a lot of "Coaster Clones" in the 1990s and early 2000s as they were mass producing Boomerangs and Suspended Looping Coasters, but the company went through a renascence around 2010 and has been building a variety of impressive and original coasters since then.
